VTD-XML 2.12 is released. To download the latest version, go to
After including vtd-xml.jar (ximpleware 2.12 downloaded from sourceforge), I cannot access all classes (VTDGen, AutoPilot,…). Should I build my own jar file from source code, or is there any other way how to fix this problem?
Can you elaborate the issue? did you manage to resolve it or still have trouble?
I am using Netbeans IDE 8.0.2.
I have downloaded ximpleware-2.12-java.zip ( http://sourceforge.net/projects/vtd-xml/files/vtd-xml/ximpleware_2.12/ximpleware-2.12-java.zip/download ).
I have created a Java Application project and included a JAR (vtd-xml.jar – from ximpleware_2.12 folder) file as an external library for my project. I could not find classes as VTDGen, XMLModifier, AutoPilot. VTDNav is accessible. I have imported com.ximpleware.*.
When I search for this classes in com.ximpleware package I also can not find them.
After this issue I have downloaded ximpleware-2.11-java.zip ( http://sourceforge.net/projects/vtd-xml/files/vtd-xml/ximpleware_2.11/ximpleware_2.11_java.zip/download ).
When I include JAR (vtd-xml.jar – from ximpleware_2.11 folder), problem mentioned above dissapear (also importing com.ximpleware.*).
Also I can find all this classes in one the imported JAR packages.

I also tried to create a library in Netbeans.
But still experiencing this problem.
There would be no problem to use 2.11 version, but I have read an article on stackoverflow, that in 2.12 version is fixed issue with xpathing namespaced elements without using namespace prefix in xpath expression.
Right now I have tried to build my own JAR from existing sources and it seems that the problem is fixed.
Really? let me try it on my machine and see whether it works on my machine
